| Bio: | I've kept a journal since I was seven years old. I can't imagine a life of not writing. It has always been my escape and refuge. I'm one of the few who still loves to write handwritten letters. I am married with two daughters, 9 and 16 years old. I do part-time bookkeeping and some transcription work, and horde my free time for creative pursuits. I like collecting original artwork, doing photography, reading YA fiction, and cooking (but not cleaning up after). I live in sunny (yet smoggy) Sacramento and probably wouldn't survive living anywhere with less blue sky than we get here. I enjoy watching a good NBA game, college football (Go Ducks!), and Tiger's putts. I love Eugene Field, Hilary Knight, Shakespeare, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Ask Caroline, Alice Hoffman, Amy Tan, Toni Morrison, historical fiction, .... I have written a YA historical fiction novel called ADA, MAID-IN-WAITING. The manuscript is 40,000 words long. I have had a lot interest with queries, but no takers, and have decided to shelve it and give it more attention at a later date. I am actively working on a YA urban fantasy, tentatively titled OUT OF BODY. I hope to have it finished by spring, 2008. I have also started a historical fiction book written with a middle grade boy audience in mind. There is a middle grade novel for a female audience in my head, just dying to be written, but I'm letting it simmer (making notes) while I finish my current WIP. I have published short fiction and poetry in the American River Literary Review. | ||||
